In addition to working on her career as an artist, Briar is a competitive dancer, pianist, former and operatic and Broadway stage performer. In 2017 she was awarded the Bill Waterhouse Award for Performing Arts from the Huntsville Town Council to recognize her commitment to the performing arts.
Her latest album, From the Ashes, is out now! Produced and mixed by three-time Grammy-award winning producer David Bottrill, it also Ben Riley on drums, Chris Stringer on guitars, Drew Jurecka on violin, Daniel Dennis on cello, Jamie Bestwick on bass, Logan Coey on drums, Jason Logue on trumpet, and Dylan Teakle on beats.
Christina Hutt (August 25th)
Christina lives in Kearney, Ontario not far from her hometown, Sprucedale. She was drawn to music at the age of five when her parents bought her a wireless microphone and a Tina Turner album. Six years ago Christina began pursuing her dream to sing and perform music full time; she is now well known throughout Central Ontario for her unique and resonant voice. There is no doubt that country music is in her bones, however, she is passionate about performing songs that cross over to other genres, suiting “Americana” quite nicely.
In the past few years Christina has performed on the VIA RAIL coast to coast train across Canada; released an EP; recorded backup vocals for Kerrville Folk Award winner Jon Brooks; and performed with Juno Award winner Blues artist Paul Reddick. Christina has opened for Canadian Country singer, Tim Hicks, Juno Award winner Blues artist Paul James and Canadian Folk Singer Craig Cardiff. Currently Hutt is working with hall-of-fame inductee, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Jeff Bird of the legendary Cowboy Junkies to write and record new songs with the release of new singles on the horizon.
