SUMMARY:Busby Marou @ Peter's Players
DESCRIPTION:Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou have traveled the far corners of the globe. Queensland boys BUSBY MAROU have forged a reputation as one of the hardest working musical acts in Australia. Tom’s playful onstage presence combined with Jeremy’s freakish instrumental ability has cemented their reputation as one of the most loved live bands to come out of Australia in recent times. \nThey have created a completely unique vibe based on Tom’s everyman’s approach to storytelling interspersed with Jeremy’s guitar virtuosity. \nThey sell out shows everywhere from Surry Hills to Cairns and have an incredibly loyal and diverse following. The boys have shared the stage with an impressive list of support tours including the likes of Dolly Parton (USA)\, James Blunt (UK)\, Passenger (UK)\, KD Lang (CAN)\, The Beach Boys (USA)\, The Zac Brown Band (USA) and Elton John. \nAlso\, big favourites on the Australian summer festival circuit listed as highlights recently at Byron Bay Bluesfest\, Queenscliff Music Festival\, Caloundra Music Festival and Woodford Folk Festival. Their second album “Farewell Fitzroy” debuted at #5 on the National ARIA charts and #12 on the official New Zealand charts. Their single\, ‘Days of Gold’ picked up the ARPA Award for Blues & Roots work of the year 2016. \nThis follows a debut album achieving certified GOLD status in Australia and included the single “Biding My Time” which took out the 2012 APRA award for Blues and Roots song of the year and came in at number 81 on Triple J’s hottest 100. \nTheir most recent album\, Postcards from the Shell House which debut at #1 on the ARIA Charts\, also a finalist in the 2017 ARIA Awards for Best Blues and Roots Album and their single Best Part of Me took out the APRA AMCOS Award for Blues & Roots Work of the Year
