DESCRIPTION:Muskoka grown singer\, songwriter Grant Tingey says his love of music came from within his\nfamily and at the age of 15\, he really started taking singing seriously and later tried his hand at\nsongwriting. In 1992 he was named Top Male Open Vocalist at the Canadian Open Country\nSinging Contest and returned in 2000 and won first prize in the songwriting category. He\nventured off to Europe where he performed at various festivals and plays in Muskoka on a\nregular basis. \nGrant has a new song that he will be performing for the first time. He hopes that this new song\nwill be embraced by both his dedicated fans and will be discovered by new ones as well. \nThis show at the Gravenhurst Opera House is a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society in\nmemory of Grant's father Sheldon Tingey. \nDate:\nFebruary 1\, 2020\nTime:\nDoors open at 6:30pm\nShow starts at 7:30pm

DESCRIPTION:The #Muskoka Watershed Advisory Group will be holding a public listening session on Thursday\, January 23\, 2020\, from 2:30 to 5 pm at the Port Carling Community Centre. \nThe purpose of the listening session is to give community members an opportunity to provide their perspectives on issues within the watershed\, which can help inform the advisory group’s advice. All are welcome to attend. \nWhile the work of the Muskoka Watershed Advisory Group will include consideration of water levels and flows\, the broader focus of the session will be on watershed health. \nThe Muskoka Watershed Advisory Group will be conducting a series of further outreach sessions with municipal leaders\, Indigenous communities and other community organizations throughout the Muskoka Watershed area in early 2020.
