DESCRIPTION:February 29 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm\n$10\n\n\nSpring is just around the corner – boat show\, car show\, Daytona 500 race all happening…We’ve been trying to co-ordinate dates with Sean Cotton for quite a while & his visit to the coffee house is also happening this leap year!  We’re looking forward to sharing songs & stories with this really great guy.  Do come & joins us & bring your voices. \nSEAN COTTON seats himself with his hands steering his guitar strings at 10 and 2\, his gas foot thumping out the backbeat on his guitar-case-bass-drum\, and his clutch foot tapping out the tambourine time. His songs are individual pieces that speak for themselves and follow the muse of the moment\, taking you to different places & stories. He was commissioned to write original songs for a theatre piece titled WHEN WINNIE KNEW\, a romantic tragedy about the lover and death of Tom Thomson. DESCRIPTION:Muskoka grown singer\, songwriter Grant Tingey says his love of music came from within his\nfamily and at the age of 15\, he really started taking singing seriously and later tried his hand at\nsongwriting. In 1992 he was named Top Male Open Vocalist at the Canadian Open Country\nSinging Contest and returned in 2000 and won first prize in the songwriting category. He\nventured off to Europe where he performed at various festivals and plays in Muskoka on a\nregular basis. \nGrant has a new song that he will be performing for the first time. DESCRIPTION:Join us to experience a 15 piece orchestra playing music from Cab Calloway\, Nat King Cole\, Louis Armstrong to Billy Joel\, Chicago\, and The Beatles and many more! \nTickets are $20.00 available on Eventbrite. \nThe Bala Legion is working with the Glen Orchard Public School on a National Unity fundraiser. The school is twinning with a grade 7-8 class in Yorktown Saskatchewan for an exchange program. Students from Yorktown will enjoy a week in Ontario\, taking in many events and making new friends\, while our grade 7-8 students will travel to Saskatchewan to learn about life in the Prairies. A portion of the proceeds from our events at the Legion are going to help raise the estimated $30\,000 needed to cover the costs of this program. Please join us in giving these kids an experience of a lifetime and promoting Canadian unity by supporting your Legion. Cheers!

All are welcome to attend. \nWhile the work of the Muskoka Watershed Advisory Group will include consideration of water levels and flows\, the broader focus of the session will be on watershed health. \nThe Muskoka Watershed Advisory Group will be conducting a series of further outreach sessions with municipal leaders\, Indigenous communities and other community organizations throughout the Muskoka Watershed area in early 2020.
