Some of the changes include: \n\nDaytime burning times are now defined and fall between the hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm;\nA permit is required for any daytime burning;\nMaximum size of a fire is (1 metre x 1 metre);\nSpecial provisions have been included which would allow contractors to have a larger fire with the Fire Chief’s approval;\nBurn barrels are now regulated\, and must be in sound condition with a mesh screen;\nA requirement for available extinguishment\, which consists of a minimum nineteen litres of water within 5 metres of the fire.\n\nTo read the updated by-law\, please visit www.muskokalakes.ca. -30-

DESCRIPTION:Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd each year and is a key time for community members to come together and make a positive impact on the environment.\nOn Monday April 22nd\, the Township is inviting the community to participate in one of two clean up events: \n\n10:00 am – Meet at Hanna Park in Port Carling; or\n1:00 pm – Meet at the Precambrian Shield Parking Lot in Bala.\n\nIf you can’t make one of the community clean up events\, the Township is partnering with the District of Muskoka on their Clean Muskoka Together initiative.
